HP Photosmart C4280

Scanning is a great tool, no matter what your needs are. Whether you are operating a small office, home office or even large office, scanners can add that extra feature you really need. One popular home office printer with scanning capabilities included is the HP Photosmart C4280. For installation instructions for this particular machine, check out Ehow. If you want instructions on how to get the scanner operating properly, though, keep reading. Many have found that this particular unit can get a little tricky, because there are some extra steps involved.

First, make sure you know your printer model whenever downloading anything. If you have an HP Photosmart C4280, C4480 or C4580, these instructions will work, but make sure when given the option that you do choose the correct model. Now, go to http://www.hp.com/#Support. Now you will need to enter in your printer model.

Next, select whatever operating system you are using. At the bottom, you will see a software section. Click on that, and then download and install the appropriate driver.

After it has downloaded, there should be a folder named “Hewlett-Packard” in your download section.

Now you are ready to actually begin the scanning process. To scan a document, start out by turning on your printer. Then connect your computer and printer to each other. Open up HP Scan Pro. Now, hit “New Scan”. Your document should scan with no problems at all.

Once your document is scanned, you can edit it. HP allows you to crop the document and edit it too. Here you can make the picture fit your exact needs. You can do things like adjust the color and red eye too. After that, all you need to do is save your creation into the format of your choice. Make sure you save it in a location you will easily remember.
